The Importance of Early Child Development for the Future
71
All parents with children have to discuss the question of when they would like their children to start attending school. There are many forms of learning and one of the most popular focuses on early child development through child-centered education. Though the term may be new to some, this form of learning represents modern learning adopted in almost all forms of learning including early childhood development.
To a number of people, child education refers to sending their children to kindergarten to learn. However, most forms of early childhood development entail the child expressing themselves in the most natural ways possible, while the teacher acts as an observer rather than the educator and then uses the child's interests to encourage growth. Teaching young children is often about allowing them to express themselves, thereby allowing you to know more about them and how to structure future lessons.
The main principles of early child development includes letting the child express themselves freely and naturally in the way they enjoy best, often initially without any form of intervention from the adult or teacher.
The main objective of this form of children education is to allow the child to learn through experience. It has been found that a child learns and understands better if taught through their experiences and interests. Often, this form of learning is more permanent (long term), unlike subject-centered education whereby the child has to be re-taught again and again in order to remember what they learned initially.
All in all, the child should be the key, or the central point of it's own development. This is a point that has been emphasized by the great philosophers such as Rousseau and Froebel.
This form of early child education is preferred among education centers presently, as it allows for children to discover and explore their natural talents, while ensuring a more permanent form of learning through interests for the future. Moreover, it allows teachers/parents to discover any latent talents by letting the child try out new things and discovering the world for themselves in a more natural way, letting them find what they do/do not like by experiencing things first hand. Although this is not possible in large public schools, it is a very effective approach to ensuring young children develop a positive attitude towards learning.

Great hub on an important subject. I totally agree that we have to focus on the child's interest and abilities to educate them with the best results, and it has to start very early in a child's life. Thanks for SHARING!
This sounds a lot like what call one of the many advantages of home schooling. It's easier to focus on the student and the student's individual needs when there are only one or two instead of a room full of students.
Voting you UP and useful. Thanks for SHARING!
There need to be made a lot of changes in present system of education. Children should be given the freedom to express their interests in their own language rather than compelling them learn what they dislike. Well-written hub.
Voted up as useful.
I've come to believe this is true of older children as well. As a parent, we try to keep our kids from making mistakes, but they learn best when we are "trusted advisors" rather than "control freaks."

I liked this hub very much. Regarding the child development I am totally against the competitions which are held in the Montessori Level of Education. I feel, in this way we are not allowing every single child to grow with its full potentiality. On this issue I have written a hub too but the problem is no one is listening. The worst part of the tackling method in the school is that the teachers encourage them who are good at doing things but never ever try to pull them up who lag behind. That is the tragedy of the development process. We hardly allow a child to explore and grow. Rather we demotivate a child when it fails to excel and motivate only a selected few. We forget that all the children will take their own sweet time to show their ability and we must give them time. We need not be impatient and rebuke those children who take a little more time than the others.
I so much agree with you. Even in my country, early childhood education means sending children to school. however, in recent time, Montessori method is growing popular here.
Brett - such a wonderful hub. Thanks for writing about early childhood development. Voted up. Thanks for SHARING.
Great information. This is exactly why I enrolled my children in montessoris, but the experience wasn't really what I expected it to be. I think it is virtually impossible for one teacher to provide a room full of kids this type of learning environment. Great concept, though, and I'm all for it all the way through high school! I believe all children learn different concepts at different paces and should be taught in the same way.
Very good information. I am going to share this with my friends on fb, who have young children. :)Voted up and useful.
This sounds like a wonderful was to truly discover a child's giftings before people and life interfere with the process. Thanks for SHARING!
Good points! I think these are the principles Montessori is built on. Voted up and interesting!
I don't know enough about children to comment on their development, but this sounds quite sensible. Voting this Up and Interesting.
Yes I agree. Please visit my hubs on this very subject.

This hub points towards an important form of education.
In India, there will be lot of children in one class room and the one to one observation and guidance is absolutely lacking.
Thanks for a very positive hub on education
