How to Make Money with WebAnswers - Part 2
By Brett.Tesol
Build something Amazing!
Why not build something amazing on Webanswers. Just like a jigsaw puzzle, if you put a bit of thought and time into webanswers, you can make something beautiful. By beautiful, I mean a RELIABLE Adsense income, which you can increase when you have extra free time. Why is this beautiful? Well, if you are already covering your bills and you answer 5-20 questions a day, you can easily make $100+ per month. Hence, a $1200 dollar luxury item, holiday, or dream experience can be yours each year ... just for answering/asking a few questions each day. Got lots of time! Well, make like a crazy person and equal the high earners bringing it $600-700 per month, that is an IMPRESSIVE $8400 per year! (calculated on their claimed average earnings).
To do this, you should try to incorporate the advice given in Part 1, with the advice below. Hopefully, if you follow these tips and answer some questions every day, you too can get some nice LARGE Google Adsense checks.
Increase your Authority and Quality Score
To increase your authority on Webanswers, you need to ask questions, answer questions and write responses to you awarded answers. That is all, it is all about numbers, not really about knowledge or quality. However, you do need to focus on quality too.
You can't actually see your quality score, but it is there and it dramatically affects how many views you are likely to receive. Obviously, less views also results in less clicks and less money. So, to increase you quality score, you need to be careful about things like:
- Length of answers
- Relevant answers
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Frequency of participation
- Questions to Answers ratio (on your profile)
- Awarded Answer Percentage (on your profile - the higher the the percent, the better it is)
Advertise Awarded Answers
Award and thou shall be awarded. Well, OK it doesn't quite work like that. But, the members here are smart people and they often check out profiles to see if you are active and also if you award people for their best answers. Awarding is a good idea, as it will both increase your chances of getting awarded and also bump up your rank! YES, if you write a response (thank you letter) when you award their best answer, it actually counts as a response to the question!! Getting you another notch on your rank. However, be sure to wait until your questions have a decent amount of responses, as you want to attract Google!
When you get awarded answers, you want to let people know. Just as on Hubpages when you publish a new hub, you should link to your awarded answers to sites like:
Redgage.com
Digg.com
Xombia.com
Shetoldme.com
Triond.com
And ... tweet like your little bird has never tweeted before!
This will help to draw in traffic, which in turn will hopefully turn into nice little adsense clicks for you. So it is worth a few minutes to let the world know about this very interesting page that you contributed to ;-).
Refer People and Traffic
Now, you are on a site that actually makes money! So why not refer some friends, family and people you know. However, some extra impressions (views) for doing this would be nice too, right? To get some extra views awarded to you for referring friends, you need to set-up your own 'tracking token'. You do this by:
- Find your referral token in My Account - Referral Program . Where you can use the existing token, or create a new token.
- You can then either add your token after the basic URL like this Webanswers.com/_TOKEN/Computers. Or, you can click the 'link to this page' at the bottom of the screen while you are signed in.
- You then email or share this URL with your friends, family and anyone else your want to get people interested in Webanswers ... the Adsense money alone should work for an incentive.
- They will track all referrals for you for up to 30 days. So for now, that is all you have to do and webanswers will calculate the rest later.
- Sit back and hope lots of extra traffic will eventually be added on top of your normal results - while all your referees make lots of money and make referrals of their own ... everybody should be HAPPY!
* You will get a bonus equivalent to 10% of total impressions from new members and 20% of any traffic you drive to their website.
*EDITED (08/03/2011) - I recently noticed a small button at the bottom of the screen called '* New Referral Program' which is suggesting that actual money is paid for referrals that generate Google Adsense clicks. Under this new system, it suggests that you get the equivalent of 10% of actual Adsense earnings. However, I have recently had a friend inform me that this is not possible under Adsense sharing. Hence, this must be an example of what they consider you could earn from getting 10% of extra traffic.
Apparently Webanswers have a separate 'pool' of unallocated adverts that they use to give uses that refer an extra 10% of referred traffic (page views). There is still some confusion and debate about this 'new program', but it is certain that they do award the equivalent of 10% of page impressions.
Either way, it will be good for you - so get referring!! - As it doesn't cost the people you refer a thing and you should be able to get a nice bonus from Webanswers' own pool of spare adverts that is just waiting for you to dip your toes in ... 10% of page views is still pretty good!!
I posted the question below on Webanswers for some clarification. I would be interested to hear your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
Webanswers Referral Program - Money or Traffic?
Whatever the outcome, everyone who works on this site regularly should start getting clicks very soon (3-8 weeks ... although, some have already had clicks after just one week!). Add to that the more people you tell about Webanswers, the more your page views you'll get, and you have a pretty good deal!
As an example, I normally generate 200-250 page views from 5 Q&As a day, but get awarded an extra 30-60 views from referred traffic. This hasn't made a huge difference on Adsense, but it has helped increase the number of clicks slightly.
Webanswers Review
If you want to write a review of the site or about your own experience on Webanswers, then please feel free to do so once you have spent some time on the website. Your readers will probably thank you for it, after all, they will make more money on this website too!
However, please do not copy any of my work or advice for "How to make money on Webanswers" - as these are my own personal TIPS for increasing your income (some are unique - like keywords for questions).
Thinking about becoming a Webanswers member?

Comments
You have really hooked us all with your inspiring guide to getting signed up for WebAnswers. Have read both parts & voted them up. Now I will click on the blue link and give it a shot too! Thanks, Christo.
Hi Brett, I've been on WebAnswers for a couple of weeks now and am really pleased so far. You do have to put quality work in and it takes time, but so far I have found it worth it.
My biggest downfall on both HubPages and WebAnswers is building links. I'm happy sharing other peoples work, but when it comes to my own I don't like to be pushy, it's something I've got to get over, I know!!
Another good hub from you Brett, with good advice for anyone thinking about entering the world of WebAnswers
Voted up and shared.
More great information in your article here about Webanswers. I am definitely going to give this site a lot more of my time and see if I can earn a few hundred dollars a month.
Thanks for SHARING Up and Useful!
This has some sound advice and I am going to ask more questions on Webanswers. Thanks for the tips.
Great tips! This article's as good as the first. However, who has plenty of time. I'm barely able to answer 2-5 questions a day. Anyway, great article!
Thanks for your comments. I think that so long as you follow the tips in this series, you should start to see money after just a few weeks. However, if you keep following the process and answer 10+ questions, you will likely see decent money after 2-3 months and it will keep coming from there.
I've found that WebAnswers does garner some AdSense income. Though I haven't been very active recently, I think that answering a few questions a day must keep my rank up. Even when I don't get awards, I seem to get a few clicks. I prefer to spend my time on HubPages, but WA is a nice diversion now and then. I never thought about sharing on Twitter, Dig and other sites - good advice!
Well I feel bad about it. For someone who genuinely want to earn the right way is simply disallowed just because I reside in a certain country is not fair at all. Ow well if you manage to find another site similar to this that dont have any restriction let me know :D Thanks for sharing
Hi Brett! I tried registering for webanswers but they deny my application. Why is that? Anyway, this hub is very great. Thanks for sharing.
I've tried webanswers in the past, but found it to be time-consuming without much (any) reward. After reading your hub and about your success there, may give it another attempt. Thanks for the information here. SHARING
Hi, yes they do have the same restrictions as Google Adsense. I believe one of the latest additions to this list was India, due to high levels of click fraud. While I feel it's unfair to ban a country, I guess the manpower to monitor an entire country was too much. Sorry if you are in this area, I think there is a list in the T&Cs
Hi Brett I tried to register on webanswer but was decline :( Do they have any geographic limitation ?
Hi SGBrown.
You will start making money from about 200 answers, but if you can do 10+ a day and follow the advice in my hubs, you should be able to develop a pretty decent income! Good luck to you.
Hello Brett. I joined WebAnswers after reading your first hub on it,day before yesterday, I believe. I hope to spend as much time there as I do here and see what happens. Thank you for sharing such good information with us.
Thank you for sharing this information. I read your first part about web answers word for word as well as this one and and found both parts very informative. I also like the idea of using web answers as a source or idea-builder for hubpages mentioned by one of the commenters. Thanks again. Voted up and useful.

Hey SusieQ42,
Yea, participation is key, and perseverance of course. Many give up after just a few answers.
However, at the rate you are going, you should start earning money pretty quickly. It started to get steadier after the 200answers mark, but has started being steady and more money now I'm nearing the 1000 answers mark.
I'm glad you wrote this hub- I am going to bookmark it to come back to on a rainy day. It's nice to know that there are a lot of options to earn money online out there, and that we've got good incentive to explain how it all works. Thank you, voted useful and up.
Hi missolive,
Glad you joined up. Hope you enjoy the experience, the key is to participate a little each day, even if only 3-5 questions.
I've been experiencing daily amounts and it is increasing steadily too. Hardly any days without some adsense cash now :-).
Thanks, Brett! That is why I asked because I didn't even want to try to drop a link in there if it was against the rules. I appreciate all your advice!! :-)
Hi Sholland10,
As far as I am aware, you should not link to you personal website. However, as you are allowed links on your profile, I will sometimes answer the question and mention that 'I have written about this subject, just check out my profile'. For me, I'm already getting 20-30 dollars a month there ... so I don't want to risk losing what looks to be $100 per month soon :-) (going by others earnings).
Hi Brett, can we put our hub links in an answer if it applies?
Hi Brett - I actually joined this morning after I had visited your profile - this Hub is the cherry on top. Very helpful, thank you.
I'm a member of Webanswers but haven't participated as much as I should. I've been busy writing articles for Textbrokers. I do, however, answer possibly 10 or so questions monthly and ask about the same. Thanks for the useful info. Voted up and interesting.
Hi Prasetio30
Glad my hub has inspired you and given you a few new aproaches to earn some extra Google Adsense :-). Cheers for the vote too! Just write something each day and you will soon see $$$ in your account.
I am a member of webanswer.com. After read this hub, It give me a new spirit to come back. Thank you very much for post this valuable information. Well done and VOTE UP!

Hi Giselle,
Wow, you are just teetering on the Adsense clicks territory. It definitely got better from there for me, I always get something, but sometimes get nearly 10 clicks ... which is lovely!.
Really glad Webanswers has helped you out too. I find it fun, but now I'm also finding it to be a great educational site, as anything you want to know or research, you can just post a question for and receive responses within days (normally).
I'm heading to yours for a read, thanks for letting me know your progress! Nice to hear you are doing well.
Anyone else getting clicks most days??
Hi Brett, thanks so much for your feedback. I have only done 137 posts on Webanswers so far, but I'm glad to know that things will improve after about 150. Although, it's going pretty well as is... I can't really complain! I'm getting 1 click most days, sometimes even 2 or 3. Occasionally I get zero clicks but that's rare.
Yes, I have already published my Hub that was inspired by the Webanswers question I asked. It's titled "My friend or family member will be an older mother! - do's and don'ts". This was inspired by the question I asked on Webanswers entitled "How to handle it when someone refers to me as an older mother?" The answers I got (which really helped me with this problem I was dealing with from someone in my personal life) made me realize that I could write a hub explaining how others can be supportive during a pregnancy of someone who is starting kids later in life.
All in all, a win-win result... a problem in my personal life solved by excellent answers from Webanswers community AND I got to make a new hub showing the perspective from the older mother's point of view!
Hi Giselle, glad you are enjoying the experience. Please drop me a comment when you publish your Hub that was inspired by your answers! It is a great site for support and advice. I have used it to get information for hubs too, as well as to find out things I just want to know or verify.
May I ask, are you getting lots of clicks yet? Have you reached 150+ posts? I started to get clicks at about 65 posts, but it really increased once I got to 150 posts.
Hi Brett, thanks for the helpful tips here. I'm liking Webanswers a lot - in fact, a question I asked there got lots of answers which helped me out in my personal life, AND it inspired me to write my next hub about the topic of the question! I can see what you mean about Webanswers being a great complement to Hubpages.
Hey Phil,
Yep. Awarding makes someone feel good and boosts your rank, so long as you write a comment when it asks you for one. Cheers for reading.
Thanks for the tip about awarding, I didn't realize it would provide some extra help.
Hi Kksonakiya,
Exactly right, time to stop reading and just get stuck in! lol The second part does have some handy tips, I hope it helps you gather a nice amount of Adsense!
I'm already impressed and I've only been there just about 5-6 weeks ... excited to see how much I'm earning after a few months, once I've written a 1000+ answers!
To summarize it, we should stop spending time on learning 'can you make money on webanswers!?' and just start doing it.
Traffic will follow and clicks will follow and eventually we will recieve a nice adsense check like a cherry on the top of a delicious cake. lol.
Loved your second part btw :)
* UPDATED with Latest information about the referral program.
Hi Alocsin,
Thanks. Glad you liked it! You should definitely give it a try when things quieten down a little.
Sounds like excellent advice. Someday, I'll find the time to actually try this out.
Hey Zubair,
Thanks for reading the series and commenting. Hope you enjoy it too.
Thank you for sharing this info. I am going to check it out now.
