My WebAnswers Experience

I have now been a member of WebAnswers since 6/23/2011 and I have to admit that I am loving it! Now, that is not to say that it can replace Hubpages in any way, shape or form. They are completely different creatures! However, I really do rate Webanswers as a fun and interesting social site.

Why is it so good? Well, a lot of what is good about it is the pure simplicity of the idea. You have a question, you post it, you have the answer, you answer a question ... that's it! See, told you it was simple. The more you answer, the more your Webanswers Adsense adverts will be displayed on those (and other) pages. If you get awarded the best answer for a question, then you will receive earnings from that page for 1 year (assuming it earns, but you can help that with a little promotion).

This sounds strange, but because of the content and their system of encouraging good quality answers, it actually draws an incredible amount of traffic to your answers and questions! At the moment, even after a short space of time on the site, I get between 200-400+ views daily - while only posting about 10 questions/answers a day. To me, this is incredible, especially considering I am a very new member. With that amount of views daily, it is easy to pick up a decent amount from Google Adsense adverts (remember to link your account). Obviously, the more you answer, the more view you get and the more you should earn!

If you are interested in joining WebAnswers, please join up or at least view them with my LINK (yes, just click the blue LINK). This will not cost you anything and will not give me any of your earnings, but it should get my adverts a few more views and hopefully some extra Google Adsense impressions.

** Update ** After only 4 months on WebAnswers, I have already had a check of more than $100 from Google. The monthly income just keeps rising ... I hope it continues this way, as I really hope to have $100 per month in the next 3-6 months.

As many have asked about money on Webanswers, here are some examples from real users:

How much money can I make on Webanswer?

TIPS for Webanswers are in my FULL GUIDE:

Setting up Google Adsense - URL Channels

If you don't have a Google Adsense account, just answer 50 questions (quality Answers) and ask 1 question to be able to apply for a Google account via Webanswers.com with a pretty high success rate.

If you want to Follow your Earnings on Adsense, you can see what you earn on Webanswers and Hubpages, all you need to do is to use custom URLs in Adsense. To do this, you must sign into your Adsense account and click the following:

Adsense Setup - Channels - URL channels - Add New URL Channels

Then you type in the URLs you want to follow, like www.Webanswers.com. You can add an entire list at a time, or just one URL. You can also add sub-domains, if you would like to know specific areas of earnings like:

http://www.webanswers.com/alternate-energy-sources/

Under the new control panel, it should have the option on the main page. Hope this helps you all discover how much more money you will make with Webanswers! :-)

this is very interesting. I clicked on the link and registered. It's worth a try and why not have fun with it. Thanks a lot for sharing this! To be honest, I was not aware of this and if it had not been through your Hub, I wouldn't have given this a shot. Thanks!

I am checking it out! Thanks for the fantastic information!

Hi Brett,

Is this the same Google Adsense account linked to Hubpages that we can link to WebAnswers? Or do we have to create a new account? This sounds intriguing. After I hear back from you, I will use the link you provided to go over there and check it out. Thanks. SHARING!

Trish_M 4 weeks ago

Hi :)

Well I clicked on your blue link and I joined ~ and I shared your hub.

I couldn't find an area, where I could answer anything, but I'll see how it goes. Wish me luck :)

Good and informative hub! The only problem for me is a lack of time.

sandrabusby 8 weeks ago

Brett, since I joined Hubpages a few weeks ago, I have learned so much -- and had so much fun, but nothing has been more challenging for me than the technical part of "driving traffic" to the site. However, I am making some progress. I do occasionally go to and answer some of the questions on WebAnswers, but I see now that I haven't been persistent enough. Thanks for SHARING. Sandra Busby

Hi Brett, I have to agree completely, I really love webanswers too, I found them when I decided to search for more question answering sites like Yahoo Answers last year, great information you are giving to those who didn't know about webanswers yet, thanks, shared up.

This is an informative hub.

But as of now I am short of time.

Good luck with your venture.

Thanks for sharing

Well Brett, if I could get rid of my husband and spend all of my time on the computer I'd love Webanswers. As was mentioned above, I spend so much time on hubpages I don't have any left for anywhere else. That being said, your hub was great as always. Very informative and I'm sure you'll have a lot of folks looking at WebAnswers. Voted up. Thanks for SHARING.

Thanks Brett for this information. Gives me a bit more hope as I am having difficulty getting approved for Google Adsense. I know they're more strict about that and people are telling me I should start a blog to increase my chances. Being new at all this, Im just not ready for a blog. I will definitely try to answer 50 questions on Webanswers and then apply. Thanks again for the great info and your 3 series Hub on this subject. Cheers!

Great article about another way to earn money from writing online. I will be honest a tell you I signed up to WebAnswers months ago. I spent about a week having an interesting time answering and asking questions. Then I completely forgot all about it.

I will be adding it to my list of daily writing tasks from now on.

Thank you for reminding me of another way to make money online

I stumbled upon Webanswers a few weeks ago before reading your hub today. Like you, I love it there too and have already made some money. It is such a fun site where you can actually learn a lot. I have learned so many new things and had fun answering and asking questions. I wasn't aware that the earnings are only for a year, but I guess if you keep answering questions, there will be plenty more to do when the year is up. It is very addictive, and I sometimes set out to answer a couple of questions and I then realize that I have been on for hours! Great hub. Voted up and interesting.

debbie roberts 3 months ago

Every hub I read of yours contains good advice!! Since bumping into you on HP and following your advise my views have gone up and hopefully in time my meagre earnings will grow.

I've not thought to try anything else on the web in terms of trying to earn, but your hub has intrigued me and now I have to go and check this site out. I will of course be following your link.

There really are not enough hours in the day!!!

Thank you and socially shared....

Brett.Tesol 3 months ago

Hi Wheelinallover,

The time you spend is up to you. If you spend just 20-30 minutes a day answering random questions, you will see the money come in. If you have lots of free time, you can make like to pros on there and pull in over $600 per month ... the choice is yours.

Thank you for the SHARE!

wheelinallover 3 months ago

We are going to let this one be until we have more staff. Our 24 online hours a day are busy enough now without adding something new. It would be nice to know what kind of background is most useful and how many (minutes or hours) a day someone should devote to webanswers. We do know people who are always looking for a new way to earn online so will be SHARING with our associates and twitter followers.

Brett.Tesol 3 months ago

Glad you all liked it. This site is great for researching hubs, is quite entertaining and brings in a decent slice of adsense ... not bad at all :-).

R9139 3 months ago

Great hub, I had not heard of this website before. I might go and take a look later today

barbergirl28 3 months ago

I belong to Webanswers but honestly it has been MONTHS since I have even gone there. I always thought it was a good site if you can find questions that you can answer. I have one I believe one or two although I wasn't aware that you only earn on them for about a year. That being said... I think it is a good site. However, I did hear rumor of people who actually had their adsense accounts disabled due to the website. I don't know if this is true or not.. but I would hate to take the chance since Adsense seems to be the only way to really make money with online writing. Have you heard of this at all?

Thanks for SHARING!

Thanks for your comments and for SHARING. This is another great site and you really can start earning quickly, I'm already averaging $40-50 per month and I do very little there! Some are getting $700+.

@ all those that joined a while ago, how is it going for you? Are you getting a decent amount of adsense?

I've been very impressed with this site and it is paying well, but is also great for researching facts and hubs. What are your thoughts?

Brett.Tesol 4 months ago

@ Jellygator, "first month will bring about $60"!? there is incredible work, that is the most I've known anyone to earn net in their first month. Great work and just imagine how much you will be earning after a few months there.

jellygator 4 months ago

Coming back to give you an update. Just got on WebAnswers last week, after reading and commenting on this post. Because my grandkiddies were visiting, I didn't spend much time until just a couple days ago. I have spent about 2 hours per day x 3 days now, and am building my response database there.

Already, I have been awarded three answers and have started seeing AdSense credits building. I anticipate my first month will bring about $60, which would be a horrible rate if I were always going to have to spend that much time, but since it builds a residual income I am excited.

Brett, if you're ever in Kansas, I'll take you to lunch. ;)

Brett.Tesol 4 months ago

Hi jellygator,

Thanks ... glad you liked it. Put in a few answers everyday and you should see money coming in before 200 answers. When you pass about 1500 (sounds a lot, but I got there is a few months), earnings really increase!

Good Luck.

jellygator 4 months ago

I hadn't heard of WebAnswers till I saw your other hub. Glad I'm following you! Thanks and as always, voted you well.

Brett.Tesol 4 months ago

Hi Rajan Jolly,

This is not so much Webanswers banning you, but Google. Unfortunately Google has banned many 'high risk' countries, closing many adsense accounts. It was due to a lot of click fraud costing advertisers money, so instead of just closing the offending accounts, they decided to completely block the high risk countries. I guess it boils down to the cost of checking accounts, but also seems unfair to ban an entire country just because many from that area caused a problem.

rajan jolly 4 months ago

Brett ,this is a very informative hub. I tried to get myself registered with them but for reasons unspecified they rejected my submission. I'm wondering if the registration is unavailable to people from India!!

Thanks for sharing.

Hi ITCoach,

Yea, it is a fun and addictive website! An easy way to earn a little extra and can even be used to research your hubs or gather opinions on a subject.

Brett.Tesol 4 months ago

Hi Tirelesstraveler,

I know what you mean, it is very addictive! However, I normally just do 5-10 questions a day ... as I check my emails. I also use speech to text software too, so it is really easy :-).

ITcoach 4 months ago

I will use it , its great for me that I can post questions on it and answers of other questions with earning and even rewarding best, get earning for the year.Simple and great way.

Voted up and Interesting.

tirelesstraveler 4 months ago

Great hub, Web answers is addictive. Had to pull out for a while, but maybe I will set boundaries and jump back in.

Thanks for the motivation.

molometer 6 months ago

Cheers Brett.

molometer 6 months ago

Thanks Brett I'll check it out. Off to the other place now see ya later.

Brett.Tesol 6 months ago

Hi Molometer,

Basically you get Adsense impressions (page views), more of these normally equal more clicks (money!!). 100 daily already is a great start, but never give exact figures online (Google T&Cs).

As for the writing software, yes unfortunately the free ones are not that great. However, the one I mentioned is very accurate, learns on the go, corrects with voice too and covers many accents. Have a read and watch some youtube videos about it. PrettyEvil uses it, allowing her/him to post many detailed answers daily with almost no effort :-) (The Ausy website is cheaper, but also has UK voice in it too).

molometer 6 months ago

Hi Brett, i saw this post days ago and was about to comment on it and it got lost in the mass of post here. So glad it surfaced again.

I have been popping into webanswers and I did try out a freebee voice doodad which didn't work at all so I'll probable go with your recommendation and squeeze some money out of my wallet lol. I got awarded another couple too.

Getting 100 of click on adsense but haven't really got my head around it completely yet.

In a 100 years from now hey? that is an interesting prospect indeed. They might look back at us as some kind of pioneers lol.

Brett.Tesol 6 months ago

Hi Molometer,

What an interesting prospect, being read in 100 years lol. I'm getting back into Hubpages now :-). Got distracted for a while there. However, now that I have built up my answer base, I get 200-400+ views per day and a lot of clicks. So just need to do some posts each day to keep things growing. How are you finding the experience? Are you recording views/clicks in adsense URLs?

Brett.Tesol 6 months ago

Hi Primo,

OK, so yes you need a checking account. You also need a Google Adsense account and to sign up for a new account with Webanswers (using my link if you feel generous - doesn't cost you anything, but gives me some more views). Then you simply:

1) Answer 50 questions, ask 1 question and apply for a Google adsense account, or link your existing account under Webanswers - My Account - Account Details.

2) Link your adsense account to your bank account following their procedure (if you want direct payments), or just wait for your check through the mail each payment.

3) Answer some questions everyday. The more you answer, the more money you make. Many are earning between $50-800 per month, but you have to answer a lot to make the $800 range.

4) Use the technique explained above to track your earnings.

Then, once you earn over $100 ... Google will send you a check or transfer your money. Please also read my advice hubs for a full explanation on how to make money there.

Good luck!

molometer 6 months ago

Hi Brett,

Thanks for the update. I too am enjoying being in the bowels of the web. We get to see some interesting stuff down there.

I'll check out the Dragon software.

I am having such a blast on hubpages and I really must devote some more time to webanswers.

What a dilemma.

Both are great but I think that hubpages is more tangible, as you can see it daily and people respond to our efforts.

Whereas with webanswers you know that sometime, somewhere in a galaxy far far away someone will ask that question that we answered 100's of years previously and learn the answer that we added. Awesome thought hey?

primpo 6 months ago

alright, I need to get it so I can make some money. I first have to have a checking account.. I think right? can one of you send me a message and give me blow by blow instructions so I know what to do first.. because I write alot and want to earn money with it.. can you help me?

Brett.Tesol 6 months ago

Hey Molometer,

I've been there 4 months and had a Google check payout already!! Pretty amazing as it takes a month or two to get good clicks coming in. Anyway, apart from that, you are right ... I have learned loads, had many questions answered, researched hubs and made money there ... not a bad combination.

Please let me know if it works out for you too, it feels good to hear when others do well and get a bit of extra cash!

P.S. Speech to text (Dragon Naturally speaking, or FlexT9) can help a lot with hubs and getting lots of answer done in less time.

molometer 6 months ago

Hi Brett, how long have you been on webpages?

I have only been dropping in here and there and it is great fun and actually really helpful. I tend to go in and do a burst and then scurry back to my precious hubs. lol

I am learning loads there too which is a bonus but I can't drag myself away from hubpages. I am addicted I'm sure.

Brett.Tesol 7 months ago

Wow ... $8.27 in only 5 days!!! Looking to be a good Webanswers month :-).

Brett.Tesol 8 months ago

Hey KK,

$7 is pretty good for your first month, as it can take 2-6 weeks to start earning. However, at the rate you are going, you should see $20s per month quite soon and hopefully in the $50-100pm range by the new year ... should afford you a few extra treats eh!

Anyone else enjoying some extra cash?

kksonakiya 8 months ago

I made only $7 but I did a little work just for the experiment and passed. So, I guess I'll work harder and faster to improve the quality as well as quantity.

Brett.Tesol 8 months ago

$50 already and daily adsense clicks are increasing. I'm happy with the results so far!! How are you guys doing? Anyone getting stable clicks yet?

Brett.Tesol 8 months ago

Hi Chris,

Thanks! Yea, it is worth checking out. It has paid me more in Adsense than any other site that I have written on ... and I'm on about 8 sites! Just stay active and you'll do fine there.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Hi Kashmir56,

Yea, it is a cool place! There is a great community, you get

Adsense money every day (after the initial weeks) and you can even use Webanswers to research your hubs. Giselle Maine (in the comments) has actually written a hub about how to use Hubpages and Webanswers together effectively.

Thanks for reading, hope you do well there too. I'm finding my earnings are very steady since I passed the 160 answers level.

kashmir56 8 months ago

Thanks for sharing all this great information, I'll have to check it out, sounds like a cool place !

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi Kk,

Wow ... printed my advice hubs eh! I think that is a first for me, I am very honored :-). I hope the tips help you make a lot of cash on there. I am finding the more I participate daily, the more money I make. Best of luck and I look forward to reading how you got on in 6 weeks ....

As a tip, if you search the web, you can find lists of high paying keywords to use for your questions ;-).

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hey Kk,

Don't think I've been called an angel before lol, many other names, but not that one. Bringing on the challenge eh!? Aaah, the best bit about this site is that we can all answer each others questions and all others, while being sure to earn something - especially if they aren't awarded early and regardless of who they are eventually awarded to. Now you know what to do, it won't take long to catch up!

Hope it goes well, I'll look forward to hearing about how you get on in month or so...

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hey Prasetio30,

Glad the guide has helped you learn how to make money with Webanswers. Expect 3-6 weeks delay before you start getting regular clicks, but then the income should become steady. Enjoy!

kksonakiya 9 months ago

will do brett certainly. Also, i have read all of ur articles based on webanswers. To tell u the truth, i have actually printed them out and put them in the file named "Tactics to Make Money Online". it is like my hard cover journal (except its not a journal). Hats off to u man.

I m gonna mark my calendar to 6 weeks and tell u my results after that. Good day/night buddy. :)

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi BabyCheetah,

Glad it was useful :-). Hope you enjoy it. If you have time, please let me know your experience after 4-6 weeks. You should see a reasonable return by then, as you already know the secrets now ...

kksonakiya 9 months ago

Hi there Brett,

You are an angel Brett, you know that. Had i known that i m gonna be paid for every single question and answer, i would have started working there since the very first day. God, i m such an idiot.

U sir are great! Thanks for the info dude. I m gonna beat u to your answers man. Just wait a few days or may be weeks. lol. :)

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hey Kk,

I know how you feel, it seems almost impossible not to get Adsense clicks on there lol. You earn from every question you ask and every question you answer, awarded or not. As your account is now linked to adsense, you can start to make $s a day not just cents :-).

Once a question is awarded, then the earnings are split between the awarded answer and the asker of the question. However, as this is weeks, or months after the question is asked, you normally make lots from un-awarded questions. The more you participate, the more your adverts (Google) will be displayed throughout the Webanswers website ... not just on the question you answer.

Now you have got your Adsense account linked in, you should also start to ask/answer 5+ questions a day to get a good income. I'm loving it so far. If you haven't read them already, check out my advice hubs for how to maximize your earnings.

Hope this helps and that you enjoy it, it is a fun place to make extra cash!

kksonakiya 9 months ago

Hey there Brett. Kk here. I made my first few cents on webanswers.com (.8) and I answered only 10 questions (those starting ones).

But i was surprised to see the money cuz none of my answers were awarded "best answer". So what's the deal?

Could u shed some light on this one?

Cheers,

KK

Hi Giselle,

Not a problem and I hope your hub is successful. I have also used Webanswers for researching hubs ... as you really get some fast responses. I read your new hub, nice write up! Has your hub been popular with your readers?

BabyCheetah 9 months ago

Thank you for the helpful advice. I've answered a few, need to ask some questions now and see how it all goes :)

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi prasetio30,

Cheers for the votes. Hope the tips help you to bring in a few more $$$s. If used daily, the Google Adsense money from clicks really grows rapidly. It is all about staying active, even if you only do a little each day.

Giselle Maine 9 months ago

Hi Brett, thanks for your kind and helpful response. OK then, I have just now published my new hub on Webanswers. If you take a look you'll see that I've come at it from the angle of why it's a good complement to Hubbing. So, a different take on the same topic. And it is my pleasure to link to your articles – after all, you were the one who introduced me to Webanswers. You have 3 links total from me, 1 to your profile and 2 to your hubs (you'll find them about halfway through and at the end of my hub).

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hey BabyCheetah,

Welcome to the club lol. Just try to post 5+ answers daily and make sure you ask some questions (while they still make money too), you should see Adsense clicks within 3-6 weeks. If you are lucky, it will turn into regular daily clicks by then ... depending on how much you write. Good luck!

prasetio30 9 months ago

Actually I am a member of webanswer.com, but I am not active like in HubPages. But I get new motivation from you and I'll try to come back. Well done and Vote up!

Hi Brett,

Thanks for writing another hub with your experiences, will be signing up soon and giving it a go :)

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi Giselle,

Good for you, you seem to have done well on Webanswers, so why not share the news with your readers. Thank you for including some links to my hubs ... very nice of you and much appreciated!

Hope you have great success with the hub, I found these hubs to be quite popular. As far as I know, most who joined up have had a good experience, as I haven't had anyone complain of not earning from Webanswers :-).

Giselle Maine 9 months ago

Hi Brett, I'm planning on making a hub on Webanswers too, but I'll be covering it from quite a different angle than you. I'll be having at least 2 links to you / your hubs in mine and will credit you as being the person who introduced me to Webanswers. I will of course NOT be including any of your original tips you shared in your Part 1 & Part 2 articles. If you have any feedback or requests, just let me know in the next day or two here before I publish it. I will of course do my very best to honor any requests you may have.

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi Graceomalley,

Congratulations, it is a good feeling. I think that maybe you may be awarding your questions too early. You want lots of responses! The more, the better. I normally wait until they have at least 4-6 good answers ... sometimes that's a couple of days, sometimes it's weeks. That said, no need to award them all, as everyone who answered gets a share from unawarded answers.

graceomalley 9 months ago

I was just awarded Best Answer for something i wrote 66 days ago. Does anyone know what is an average time people wait to award an answer? I had kind of given up on that one, though i had looked back at it from time to time. I also awarded my own questions within a week. Was i not waiting long enough?

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi Sholland10,

Glad you are enjoying it. I just think that 5 a day is an easy amount to do without burning out. Then, if you feel like more, you can add extra when you feel like it. It is enough to get the money coming in steadily :-).

sholland10 9 months ago

Thanks, Brett! I am glad I haven't tried to add one then. Yes, I can see what you are saying about pacing yourself. Webanswers is a fun site, So glad you wrote these hubs!! Thanks, again. :-)

Brett.Tesol 9 months ago

Hi Sholland10,

I don't know about rock star lol, but thank you anyway. It really is a great site, after just 3 weeks I reached double figures on Adsense (dollars, not cents lol). I honestly believe that with a little effort, you can realistically bring in $100-300 per month. But, it will take time to start with.

You can put links on your profile page, but I wouldn't recommend putting them in Answers. I believe that you can get kicked off the site for this and you don't want to be banned. I normally write a detailed answer, then if relevant, I mention that if they would like more detailed information that they can check out my profile and blog.

Good luck, try to do 5 or more per day! Then the money will roll in quickly.

sholland10 9 months ago

Bret, you are a rock star!! Two great hubs voted up, useful, and awesome.

I read in an answer above that we can backlink back to our Hub Pages profile, but can we backlink to our hubs if they are specifically connected to the answer?

Thanks for all your answers!!

Cheers everyone!! This has just hit Page 1 of Google.com - at least for this area. I was shocked, but very pleased.

Thanks for all your support and comments.

Hi Giselle,

Thanks for reporting back on your Success! Great job!! Your clicks and Adsense earnings will continue to increase for a while, so long as you keep writing - then they should level out with monthly payments. I get 2-10 clicks a day on average now, so they certainly add up. I think I am now averaging almost $2 per day, but it does vary.

Keep up the good work, I feel pleased that I have helped someone else get some of Google's CASH! :-)

Giselle Maine 10 months ago

Hi Brett, checking back in....I have only been on Adsense for 5 or 6 days now... but I'm already starting to see 1 click per day most days now!! (I'm answering about 5 Q's per day like you recommended). I have even had 1 of my answers been Awarded to me! In short, it is a marvellous complement to Hubpages writing.

Now, I will say that with my 1 Webanswers click per day avg, I am not yet earning near your lower limit of $1 per day avg on Webanswers, but I'm hoping that my daily amount will go up over time after I've answered more Q's & therefore get more clicks. So in other words, my earnings are quite a bit less than yours but then again I've only joined 5-6 days ago! In fact I was actually pleasantly surprised to be earning *anything* so soon after starting on Webanswers. Thanks for this fantastic hub!

Any other hubbers reading my comment, I definitely recommend you a) try Webanswers and b) set up custom URL channels like Brett specified near the end of this hub to understand exactly how much you are getting from Webanswers - I think people will be pleasantly surprised!

Hi Pamela,

Thanks, glad you liked it. It is worth a try, even if you don't write a lot, it is pretty easy to get money from this site.

Hope you like it when you get time for it.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Successfulblogger,

I agree, but then with some sites you get the Adsense clicks easier than others. Thanks for commenting.

Pamela N Red 10 months ago

Great information, Brett. I'll look into it when I have more time. Always good to find new avenues for income.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Cameron,

Thanks for reading, commenting and joining. It is a great little site and the idea draws in A LOT of READERS ... hence the easy Adsense Clicks. Hope it works out for you too!

successfulblogger 10 months ago

Adsense is easy money.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hi Forlanda,

See ... easy money lol. It is a great site and really gets a lot of clicks. Just remember to write often and don't give up, it will take a few weeks or more to start getting Adsense clicks, but once they start, they don't seem to stop clicking! :-)

Glad you joined, it will be good to ask and answer questions with fellow hubbers.

Cameron Corniuk 10 months ago

Sounds pretty neat. I've had a look and am going to sign up myself.

forlanda 10 months ago

You're right. It is simple. I'm a member now too. Thanks.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Cheerfulnuts

I've read and made comments with you both, but never put you together as sisters - although, it makes perfect sense now! lol. Glad you found the hub useful, you can do very well on there, just make a little effort each day (if you can) for 1-2 months. Keep writing away, you will get there, but if you give up, your hard work will be lost. You need to build up a decent base of answers, then you will get lots of adsense clicks! Good luck

cheerfulnuts 10 months ago

Hi Brett, I have joined webanswers several days ago before reading this. I wasn't active though and had answered only a couple of questions. Then my sister (seriousnuts) had read about this hub. She persuaded me to be active. Thanks for sharing this useful hub and for giving us an idea on how to make some money there.:)

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hi Giselle,

Yea, if you want to track where your adsense earnings are coming from, it is a good idea. Personally, I don't mind ... so long as they come in! lol. To be honest, I don't think you will have had clicks just yet, most say it takes 3-8 weeks to really get rolling (you should get occasional clicks, but after that kind of period, you should get more than 1 click most days! - sometimes I get 5-8 clicks).

When you start to make money, please take a moment to drop me a comment - how long it took? How you are finding it? How many answers/questions etc. Would be great to hear that others do well!

For now, just don't give up ... the first few weeks can feel frustrating, but it will start to roll in with this site!

Giselle Maine 10 months ago

Hi Brett, thanks so much for adding the step-by-step instructions... perfect, clear yet concise. So now I have my channels set up, thanks to you.

However, I think it only tracks the channel *after* it's been set up, from what I can see (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't seem to examine clicks to Webanswers for dates before the channel was added). So other readers starting out on Webanswers may also like to update their adsense channels ASAP after joining to make sure they can track everything from the start. Anyhow, that was an aside, I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate you editing your hub to add in those Adsense instructions - this really helped me a lot.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hi Giselle,

It is a little detailed on how to follow earnings from separate URLs with Adsense, so I have updated this hub to give you a step by step of how to do it. You have to add some filters to Adsense itself.

Hope you will discover you already have Adsense clicks ;-)

Giselle Maine 10 months ago

OK, I am following your instructions. But I can't figure out how/when I will know whether I have earned any adsense from Webanswers? Will it tell me on Webanswers (it doesn't seem to tell me that info on "My activity" though). I am not expecting to have earned anything yet anyway. My question is more about how will I find out when I finally do earn something?

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

For those that have signed up in the hope of earning Adsense, remember not to give up.

Set yourself an amount of Q&As per day and stick to it for 4-6 weeks. You may feel disheartened after 2-3 weeks, but when clicks start to come in, they will get more and more frequent. Also, if you want to get there quicker, try doing 20-30 questions one day a week, as it will boost your rank and pages!

Have fun ... see you there

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Phil,

It is worth a try, even if you don't answer a lot, but offer a bit each day, you will get some adsense. You can easily knock out about 3-4 answers and 1-2 questions it 20mins. But, if you have the time, it is better to write longer answers.

Good luck

Phil Plasma 10 months ago

I may consider trying it also, I just need to find the time to do both hubs and that and everything else that consumes my time.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Alocsin,

Enjoy the fun, hope you do well mate ... going by your activity here, I think you'll make plenty of $$$'s there!

alocsin 10 months ago

I'll check it out, Brett. Thanks for bringing up this new source of fun and income.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Seriousnuts,

My pleasure, any questions, just ask.

Thanks ... hope you do well with the clicks too. As long as you ask/answer some everyday, you will make money! If you have the time, try to do 20+, as that seems to be what the bigger earners are doing. For me, 5 a day should get me regular Google checks :-).

Oh, don't forget you can 'research' answers on Google, but use your own words to explain the answer!! (They are very strict on NO COPYING).

seriousnuts 10 months ago

Thanks Brett for the comprehensive explanation. I am loving Webanswers. It sure is fun to answer questions. I will do my best to provide quality answers. Congratulations on your success there. Hope you'll earn more!

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

As I have been asked about how much money can be made on this site, I have updated the Hub with a link that has lots of examples, but you may just want to look at this for the BIG EARNERS!:

http://www.webanswers.com/_FreeAnswers/webanswers-

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Seriousnuts,

Welcome! Glad you joined. Sure, you will earn loads without awards, but you will earn more if you can get awarded. Be sure to write quality answers (4 lines or more), then you will get a bigger share of adverts and money. If you check out my profile, I ask questions that will display high paying adverts, so if you answer them, you get a share of the ads. It works for everyone, as they will also attract more traffic if good answers are given! So everyone who answered gets a share, whether awarded or not.

http://www.webanswers.com/_FreeAnswers/profile.cfm

If you read the comments above, it should give you an idea of how things can work out .... does that help?

P.S. You get a share of adverts on pages you answer on and throughout the website, but this is based on your quality score, questions and traffic.

seriousnuts 10 months ago

Hi Brett,

How about if you don't get the best answer? Will you still earn? I am trying webanswers for a few days already. It seems strange, as some questions were already a year old but without an awarded answer. I just finished posting 10 answers today.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Suramya.K,

No problem, credit where credit is due. Yea, I was lucky .. but that was all. It took me more posts to get regular clicks, but now I seem to get some adsense cash every day (well, 80-90% of the time, which is pretty good!).

Thanks for the votes!!

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hi Giselle,

Thanks for joining and you comment. Just remember to do 5+ questions or answers a day for a few weeks. Don't get disheartened, it takes a while for you to build you pages. But, once you get there, you should start to get regular clicks! I started to get clicks fairly often after 70ish posts, but it really started to role after 180!!

Best bit is that it is fun, so it doesn't feel like an effort :-).

Good luck

Suramya.K 10 months ago

Thanks a lot for the credit, it really means a lot to me. You cannot imagine how good I'm feeling right now. I'm glad to have helped you and showed you some diversifying options. Most of the new users get discouraged witihin a few days and leave the site. But I'm glad that you stayed and had the taste of real WebAnswers. I was not lucky like you to have clicks within 2 days (for which I waited 4 months LOL!!), so I guess you are enjoying the site - which actually shows in your hub. Thanks a ton and best of luck to everyone for WebAnswers! Voting this up and useful for more exposure..Cheers!

Giselle Maine 10 months ago

Hi Brett, I took your advice and am trying it out as I speak! It seems like fun.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Alocsin,

LOL - straight to the money question. Well ... let's just say I'm lazy on the site, but I often get $1-4 per day in clicks!! (most days now actually)

Major participators are bringing in $500-700 per month. I'm just doing it for fun, but it is a NICE bonus for such a SMALL amount of work!! :-)

Are you gonna join? It would be great to have the HP community on there!

Thanks for the votes.

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Hey Eaglekiwi,

It takes a bit of time to discover the site, but you will get there. Yea, I meant you can backlink to your websites, HP profile and any other sites from your profile page there. However, you can also link from your Hubpage profile back to them.

Of course, you can setup your own referral tracker - (they are also still in the beta stage, so you get paid for questions too!). Click on 'my account' then a couple of inches lower than that tab is another tab called 'referral program'. You won't get money from it, but it may increase your views over time. There are full instructions and a ready made token for you. Hope this site works out to be as good for you as it has for me!

alocsin 10 months ago

So how much money are we talking about, Brett? (Voting this Up and Useful.)

Eaglekiwi 10 months ago

Ok ,cool.

And thank you for the compliment ,very kind of you.

Do you mean backlinks to my HP profile for WebAnswers profile?

Can you maybe help to set up a referal tracker too. Like I was fine joining up via your link ,but does that mean I cant set my own up now as well?

(Um well I tried too) but couldn't figure it!

Brett.Tesol 10 months ago

Thanks Eaglekiwi,

It is a great site and compliments writing on Hubpages really well. You can also add backlinks to your profile, but not to your answers. Try to do AT LEAST 5 posts a day for the first few weeks (or longer if you want a regular income), then you should earn from Adsense pretty quickly! (may take a few weeks to start rolling in, but when it does, it is a pretty consistent income)

Eaglekiwi 10 months ago

Nice hub and got my attention!
